This is the code for traditional grocery retail — from large supermarkets down to local corner shops. The key requirement is that food, beverages or tobacco must be the predominant product category. If your store sells mainly non-food items with some groceries, use 47190 instead. Online grocery retailers should use 47910 (retail sale via internet) instead.
