What This Code Means

This is the default SIC code for any business that sells physical products online. It covers everything from major e-commerce operations to small Etsy shops and Amazon FBA sellers. If you sell both online and in a physical store, you may want this as primary (if online is your bigger channel) or secondary. Dropshipping businesses should also use this code even though they never physically handle the goods. Digital product sales (software, ebooks) may be better served by 62012 or 58290.

Businesses That Use This Code

  • E-commerce businesses selling products online
  • Amazon marketplace sellers
  • Subscription box companies
  • Catalogue-based mail order businesses
  • Dropshipping businesses
